A friend and I ordered: Tomatoes - tasty, crispy, sauce was spicy and delicious but not too spicy. Lettuce with dressing was good 5/5 Pickle back burger and fries - not enough sauce, made it a little dry - 4/5 Spicy jalapeño burger and fries - 5/5 Dirty Shirley temple - 3/5 was too strong for me Basil alcoholic cocktail (forgot the name) - too much basil - 4/5 Tables were very close together. Staff was friendly.

The spicy goat is normally my go to, but you can't go wrong with the wings or the goat cheese balls. The specials are usually pretty amazing as well!

My recent visit to Hops Burger Bar on Lawndale was Sat Aug 10 around 2:30pm. It was packed as usual but surprisingly with my party of 2 we were seated immediately albeit the table was right next to the restrooms which saw a steady flow of patrons coming and going along with the wait staff coming from the kitchen, but it's a small space so it is what it is! Our waiter was actually the bartender which I thought was going to be an issue because the bar was packed as well, but it proved not to be an issue at all. We still got great service. I ordered the 6oz French Onion burger and added bacon, well-done with truffle oil & parmesan fries. It was definitely freshly prepared, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not normally a beer drinker but it's something about eating at Hops Burger Bar which I feel a good quality, local beer is always needed. I had a local beer out of Charlotte, sorry, can't remember the name of it now but it paired well with the burger. While I don't visit regularly as the prices are kind of high for a burger & fries, however, on the occasion its ok to have special treat and that's what makes visiting Hops Burger Bar so great. The food and service are always consistent.

My friends and I wanted to eat here after we saw this place in a brochure of "Must try resturants in Greensboro". When I called to make a reservation, the person on the phone was kinda rude; however, I learned that Saturday nights are their busiest days, so they may've just been flustered. The wait time was too long, so we decided to eat elsewhere and come back in the early afternoon on Sunday right when they first opened. We had a small wait, about 20 minutes, but they were able to accommodate our party. Our server was really friendly. They have a pretty inclusive menu of different types of specialty burgers, fries, sides, and vegan and vegetarian options. The day we went in, they had a couple of specials that I ended up ordering. "The Pizza Burger" was pretty delicious, but kinda messy to eat with all of the toppings it came with. I really enjoyed my loaded fries, especially with the ranch on the side. The Brussel sprouts were also delicious, but I'm not sure if I would've paired them with cesar dressing. The flavors didn't pair well together, but when I got more ranch instead for the brussel sprouts, I was pretty content. All in all, I had a solid meal, and I can see why Hops Burger Bar gets so busy.

I almost hate to leave a good review because the wait is long enough s it is! If you are into good burgers, this will be your jam. My three go-to burgers are the "Spicy Goat", the "Diablo" and the "North Carolinian". I learned a long time ago that no matter how hungry I am that the 8 oz patty is their sweet-spot. If you are looking for less, just take the balance home in a doggy bag, and if you think you'll need more, order some fried cauliflower! Seriously, that's a great appetizer. Their sweet potato fries are my favorite, with their massive onion rings coming in second place.

This place was recommended to me by numerous people. It didn't disappoint! They had some delicious brews with interesting flavors. I ordered the Diablo burger and it was very good. The truffle fries were also delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. They had indoor and outdoor seating. They have a parking lot right next to the restaurant as well as additional parking down the hill in a gravel lot.

FAVORITE burger in town but be mindful of the wait- luckily it's worth it! I always get the spicy goat burger here and get the turkey burger which is the absolute best! So much flavor and great texture, you would think you were having a regular burger. This burger is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, I've tried to get similar versions in other restaurants but it's never even close to as good as this one. Also a big fan of the shallot dressing for their salad. My husband always likes to try out their special burger which changes weekly. This was the meatloaf one which had provolone and onion straws on top which was such a good flavor combo- we want to try to make something similar at home the next time we make meatloaf. We were excited for the Gouda Mac and cheese but it was underwhelming, not creamy enough and definitely needed some salt/seasoning (this is honestly the first item I've ever not liked from this restaurant). They do have a kids menu it's just not printed so simply ask the server and they will tell you the options, my daughter went with the cheese burger and sweet potato fries. We usually get some kind of loaded fries but weren't hungry enough this time but I HIGHLY recommend them, we've loved every flavor we've tried. While the location is small, I love the warm pub type feel inside and the staff is always moving quickly without making you feel rushed. If you haven't been, this is a MUST try!

Dine in | Lunch | $10-20 THE WINGS ARE OMG! Hops is SO good! Best burgers in town. Wanted to resubmit my rating with a five star. Dined in tonight with my sister and the service was great. Previous review: I was craving a burger and decided to order Hops instead of Five Guys... I am so glad that I did! Haven't had Hops in years but I knew how good their burgers were. Asked for well done- spot on, the angus beef had a wonderful flavor, and applewood bacon was great quality. Thick flavorful bacon! Fries were perfect as well. The host(s) greeted me and they all were super nice and attentive. I did intend on placing my togo order online but there was an additional fee... Went inside to order to avoid it, so that was an inconvenience. They also add auto gratuity of 18% on parties of 6 or more. I try to stay away from force tip restaurants because those are earned for excellent service, not depending on your party size. Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Burger Parking space: Difficult to find parking Parking options: Free parking lot Parking: This spot be jumping, parking is limited.

Haven't been here in awhile and was craving a burger. I got the North Carolinian Burger, it's just something about having a fried egg on burger that does it for me. The server was quick and attentive. I was just chatting with my friend after ordering and the food came out in about 10 mins. The server apologized about bringing the appetizer out before the meal and took it off the bill. I was surprised because it wasn't that long and I didn't mind. But good service! They were busy and but it wasn't too crowded. Pretty chilled vibe. I will be back! So if you're in the area, stop by and give it a try. They got 2 locations in the gso area!

5th review all time here? It's worth updating your reviews every so often to keep them current so that your opinion stays fresh for everyone to read! Just stopping by to say, though my tastes have moved on to prefer the more "smashburger" style of burger, as opposed to the thicker flame-grilled style they do at Hops... I still really like Hops. I can't think of a time someone has suggested it and I've said "Nah." Part of this is the continued innovation on their weekly burger, the rest of this is their selections of sides, apps, and beers. They're all good, and there is always something that suits your current preferred taste here. The service is always solid, especially by modern standards, and it continues to maintain that neighborhood feel even though it is one of the most well known restaurants in the Triad. This is a fail-safe place to bring someone, whether that be a date, or them visiting, or they just want a good burger. Hops won't let you down. Thanks for continuing to serve the Triad at a high level!
